Day 1 Summary
Swamiji provided insight on 2 thoughts from Ramayana – one each from Bala Kanda (Shri Bharatha meeting Bhagwan in the forest) and Vali’s question to Bhagwan and Bhagwan’s reply.
1. Bhagwan befriended Sugreeva rather than the powerful Vali. Bhagwan stood for values and virtues even though the results from following values will be delayed but will be permanent. Similarly, we should choose values and virtues over power and compromising with our values and dharma.
2. Swamiji started on the second virtue of Bhagwan where Bhagwan was a team leader and able to identify differences among team members (between Shri Lakshmana and Sugreeva). Swamiji will start elaborating on this thought today.
Day 2 Summary
Swamiji provided insight on 2 thoughts from Ramayana
1. Bhagwan identified the gap between Sugreeva and Shri Lakshmana, and along with Hanuman connected them both by making Shri Lakshmana make the Maala for Sugreeva. Bhagwan was a true leader who identified gaps between people and fixed them for Team betterment and oneness. Thereby showcasing great Leadership insight.
2. Swamiji explained another management virtue of Bhagwan where Bhagwan empowered Sugreeva as the Leader and to take charge of the Vanara sena. This way Bhagwan showed how a true leader can train sub leaders for better Team efficiency and provided Management insight.
3. Swamiji introduced the qualities of goal setting and planning for greater purpose and success which Swamiji will elaborate today.
Day 3 Summary
Swamiji provided insight on 2 thoughts from Ramayana
1. Goal setting and delegation: Involves setting a specific goal(s), collecting resources, planning, delegating and instructing the team members. Swamiji explained this with the episode of Bhagwan and Sugreeva assigning the vanara sena with the task of finding Mother Sita.
2. Finding the right person for the right job: Swamiji explained the importance of finding the right person for the right task with the episode of the team led by Angada reaching the southern tip of Bharat and Jambavan assigning Shri Hanumanji with the tasking of going across the ocean to Mother Sita. Sugreeva had assigned Angada as the team leader, Jambhavan as the advisor and Shri Hanumanji as the executor.
3. Testing the abilities of team members: In the episode where Angada was talking to the vanara sena to decide on whom to send to find Mother Sita, he enquired with the sena as a group and individually to find the best person to do this responsibility and in the process was able to assign Shri Hanumanji to go across the ocean.
4. The leader should get the job done: The leader should have the ability to do a responsibility that is assigned to the team members. Swamiji used the same episode of Angada assigning the responsibility to Shri Hanumanji to explain this skill.
5. Recognize your strength: A leader should know their strength and potential, should be receptive to the advise of elders and be compassionate.
All the above virtues were explained with the episode of Angada delegating duties to the vanara sena and Jambhavan recognizing the potential in Shri Hanumanji.
Day 4 Summary
1. Have the right attitude at work: Understand that we are all instruments in Bhagwan’s hands doing different roles. Do not worry about being recognised.
2. Overcoming obstacles: Have to know to employ the right strategy to overcome specific obstacle, be consistent in pursuing our goals. Swamiji explained this with the episode of Shri Hanumanji jumping across the ocean and employing different strategies with Mainaka, Simika and Surasa.
3. Inspired work never causes exhaustion. Shri Hanumanji was not tired even after crossing 100 yojanas to reach Lanka and was ready to do his responsibility.
